Happy Birthday, Alexandra!

Those of you who know me, know that I run away from kids as fast as I can. This includes all kinds of prolonged interactions like babysitting or, frankly speaking, anything that requires spending more than 5 minutes in their company. To this day they seem to be mysterious creatures that have a deadly combination of weapons no one can resist: tears and screaming.  I’ve read somewhere that you should never let your enemy know you fear them and over time, I have managed to deploy a successful strategy to skilfully avoid kids without showing I am scared of them. You know, like when they want to play tag and you start running so fast to make sure they will never catch up… or when they stubbornly want to play with you and you run out of excuses so you end up praying so hard inside Please, please, please God make them get bored with me in the next 5 minutes and I promise I will do whatever you want of me or something like that.

But even my heart, so very well shielded against the children virus cannot resist the cutest little girl there is.  And I didn’t want to let this day pass without wishing Happy Birthday 🙂 ! to my special little someone. Alexandra, you have my heart!
