Black & White Disco

I have known Emi since childhood. Needless to say I’ve photographed him in numerous occasions and every time our sessions were so much fun. I still remember that time we sneaked with all my gear and an armful of fancy clothes passed a guard and into a fenced area to have a session on some abandoned train tracks… but that’s a story for another time.

For this session, we had an idea about doing a crazy lights shooting. We were trying to recreate a disco atmosphere but most of all have a good talk and eat good pizza afterwards. Emi is a pro in front of my lens, always flowing seamlessly through the poses and I’m happy to say our mission was accomplished: we ended up with a handful of beautiful statement photos. As a firm believer that when you photograph people in black & white, you truly glimpse into their soul, I couldn’t help but try to capture Emi as I see him unraveling in front of my eyes. He always had the most charming personality; I knew him as a child, a teenager and now I am so proud to know him as the man he grew into!
